Inform Women, Transform Lives bird logo

The Inform Women, Transform Lives campaign provides information about an important, and often hidden, issue that affects thousands of women and girls in Birmingham - domestic abuse.

We are proud to partner with The Carter Center on this campaign aimed at ensuring women have equal access to information to help enable and empower them.

Women are often in need of information and advice but are the least likely to seek it. This could be for many reasons. We are working with The Carter Center to raise awareness and provide easy access to information.

The Carter Center helps to improve lives through its international work. Birmingham was successful in joining this campaign alongside a number of other cities across the world including Bogota, Casablanca, and Dhaka North.

What is domestic abuse?

Domestic abuse can mean any kind of violent, threatening or controlling behaviour between people in a relationship. The abuse can be from a partner, ex-partner or a family member and it can happen to anyone.
