Change of surface to the Alexander Stadium warm-up track infield

A non-material amendment planning application was submitted and approved to permit a change to the surface of the warm-up track infield (area in the centre of the track) from grass to an artificial (3G) pitch.

The change of surface will allow the pitch to be used for a wider range of sports activities by the community, schools, clubs and athletes such as football, rugby league, and rugby union

Following the approval of the application, a procurement process was undertaken to secure a contractor to carry out these works. S&C Slatters have been appointed and will be installing the new 3G surface between April and June 2024.
