Enterprise Zone Partnership Board
The Enterprise Zone (EZ) Partnership Board provides clear vision and strategic leadership for the EZ Programme.
To secure the investment needed to fund innovative projects that result in major change, the board engages with:
- local stakeholders
- West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA)
- government
- government agencies
The EZ Partnership Board is made up of 9 members:
- 4 private sector members (one to chair)
- Deputy Leader of Birmingham City Council
- two independent member representatives (not from BCC)
- the council's S151 Officer
- the council's Strategic Director of Place, Prosperity, and Sustainability
The roles and responsibilities of the EZ Partnership Board include:
- approval of the EZ investment plan (EZIP)
- approval of EZ investments including, change requests over £0.5million revenue and £1million capital
- overseeing the EZ Programme Board
- overseeing the delivery of the EZIP
- monitoring and performance management of the EZ Programme
- overseeing the EZ risk register to ensure appropriate management, mitigation, and escalation of risks and issues relating to EZ projects/programme delivery and performance
- ensuring affordability of the programme
- ensuring promotion of EZ success and achievements
- overseeing delivery of legacy funding programmes transferred from the Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership (GBSLEP) including, investment decisions within its delegation
*Requests for funding are subject to the availability of funds and ratification through Birmingham City Council’s gateway process, if applicable.
