Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA)

The Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) is an assessment of the current and future health and social care needs of the people of Birmingham. It is the responsibility of the Health and Wellbeing Board. Its purpose is to inform local organisations enabling them to plan services for the future, including informing the Health and Wellbeing Strategy.

Birmingham’s JSNA consists of the following work programmes:

  • JSNA dashboard
  • a series of deep dive analyses
  • a series of profiles

Annual reports

The Director of Public Health’s annual reports also provide intelligence and understanding on the health and wellbeing of Birmingham citizens and focus on different topics each year.
