Do I have to pay?
All organisations who are eligible to borrow will be charged for their loans. Birmingham-based groups will be charged at a reduced rate.
Charges are based on the duration of each piece. The durations will be marked on the website listings and the library’s decision is final.
Durations
Sets have either "short" or "long" durations.
These are indicated on the listings to help you calculate any charges in advance.
Short choral sets
A piece is "short" if it is 20 minutes or less, including vocal compilations.
Long choral sets
A piece is "long" if it is more than 20 minutes.
Compilation choral sets feature publications with a selection of different pieces. Orchestral sets are "short" if they are 20 minutes or less and "long" if over 20 minutes. A separate category exists for particularly long, expensive, or rare titles.

A piece is "short" if it is 20 minutes or less, and "long" if it is more than 20 minutes.
