Apply for Independent Travel Training
If you live in the Birmingham City area you can apply for Independent Travel Training. We accept referrals from:
- students
- parent/carers
- school and college staff
- social workers
- transport assessors
- council workers
Training is free to anyone who meets the criteria below. You must be:
- aged between 11 years to 25 years old.
- eligible for BCC transport assistance.
- have an education health care plan (EHCP) or an identified special need, physical disability, or medical need.
(If you have an exceptional circumstance, this will also be considered).
- live in Birmingham.
- live no more than 1 hour 15 minutes from your school, college, place of work or destination, using public transport.
(This may be dependent on the individual's ability to access training).
