Birmingham City Council Statement of Accounts: Financial Year 2016 to 2017
The Council's Draft Statement of Accounts for the financial year ended 31 March 2017 which include Group Accounts and the Draft Annual Governance Statement, was signed by Mike O’Donnell, Interim Chief Finance Officer on 1 June 2017 and passed to Grant Thornton for external audit on 5 June 2017.
The final version of the Accounts has been amended for matters arising during the audit and included in the Auditor's Annual Findings Report. The Final Statement of Accounts was signed by the Interim Chief Finance Officer and the Vice Chair of Audit Committee on 26 September 2017.

Conclusion of the Audit
In accordance with the requirements of Regulation 16 of the Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015, notice is given that the audit of the financial accounts for Birmingham City Council for the financial year ended 31 March 2017 has been concluded.
The rights conferred on local government electors by Section 25 of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 are to inspect and make copies of:
- the statement of accounts;
- the auditor’s certificate of completion;
- the auditor’s opinion on the statement of accounts.
Should an elector require copies of any of the statements outlined above, this may be supplied on payment of a reasonable sum for each copy.
The web version of the Statement of Accounts does not include manual signatures for security purposes.
