Accounts for the financial year 2017 to 2018

The Council's Draft Statement of Accounts which includes Group Accounts and the Draft Annual Governance Statement was signed by Clive Heaphy, Corporate Director – Finance and Governance and passed to Grant Thornton for external audit on 31 May 2018.

The final version of the Accounts has been amended for matters arising during the audit and included in the Auditor’s Annual Findings Report. The Final Statement of Accounts was signed by the Corporate Director – Finance & Governance and the Chair of Audit Committee on 30 July 2018.

Conclusion of the Audit

In accordance with the requirements of Regulation 16 of the Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015, notice is given that the audit of the financial accounts for Birmingham City Council for the financial year ended 31 March 2018 has been concluded.

The rights conferred on local government electors by Section 25 of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 are to inspect and make copies of:

  1. the statement of accounts;
  2. the auditor’s certificate of completion;
  3. the auditor’s opinion on the statement of accounts.

Should an elector require copies of any of the statements outlined above, this may be supplied on payment of a reasonable sum for each copy.

The web version of the Statement of Accounts does not include a signature for security purposes.
