With the re-introduction of buses and the new Metro extension to Five Ways the team will be encouraging hackney cabs and private hire vehicles to keep the red route along Broad Street clear to allow the smooth passageway of public transport along Broad Street.

Whilst the primary objective is to advise and educate drivers any vehicle contravening the new bus gates or causing an unnecessary obstruction may receive a fixed penalty ticket.

Drivers will be greeted in the side roads leading to Broad Street and will be encouraged to drop off and collect passengers in the designated areas that have been allocated.
