Day centres can be in community centres, places of worship or even have their own specialised buildings.

Dementia specific centres
If you know someone who is suffering from dementia and would benefit from what a day centre has to offer, there are dementia specific centres to cater for the more specific needs of those suffering from dementia. These day centres welcome both those with dementia and their carers and the environment is safe and relaxed. Most offer advice and support, as well as light activities for everyone to join in.
Day centres not only help to keep the ageing population mobile and social, but can help carers and family members to have easy to access, casual respite.
