Support for community groups
Local groups and communities know their areas best and are well placed to promote sustainable change at the local level. Given this, we work closely with several groups and networks and recommend the following resources:
Networks and Support
BVSC Environment and Energy Network
A network for climate change related community groups which meets monthly via teams. BVSC provide a useful breakdown of recent environmental policy and links to relevant consultations, whilst highlighting grant opportunities, hosting guest speakers, and providing an opportunity for networking between community groups.
A forum that meets quarterly to discuss environmental topics agreed by the WMCA and participants. Features a range of speakers from the WMCA, local groups, and businesses to discuss topic and produce actions. Meetings are online and in person and rotate through the WMCA regions.
Grants and Funding
Community Funding for Birmingham
A database of grant and funding opportunities for community groups provided by BVSC. Funding opportunities relevant to climate change causes are also highlight during BVSC's Environment and Energy monthly meetings.
