How to influence a planning obligation

Note that planning obligations have to meet legal tests to ensure that they are reasonable and fairly related to the development. Therefore it will not be possible to include all suggestions.

There are two ways to influence the content of S106 agreements:

Comments can include suggestions for projects which may lessen the impact of a new development on an area, for example road improvements, or improvements to local facilities such as play areas.

The content of any Section 106 agreement will be considered by the Planning Committee. All S106 documents are publicly available on Planning Online once a decision has been made.
