Local Government Elections
Following the Boundary Review of Birmingham and its electoral wards, the ward structure within Birmingham has changed. Instead of 40 wards represented by 3 councillors each, there are now 69 wards, which are represented by either 1 or 2 councillor each. There will be 101 councillors in total across Birmingham.
The first election to these new wards took place on Thursday 3 May 2018. Each councillor will be elected for a 4 year term, with the next scheduled local elections to take place in 2022.
