Summerfield Park is a 25-acre, traditional Victorian park, boasting attractive mature trees, planting and large grassed areas.
The park's high-quality path surfaces are ideal for healthy extended walks or cycle rides. People looking for a longer walk will also find that the park is a hub at the end of the Harborne Walkway at Summerfield Park Bridge.
The land was purchased by the council from the glass-making Chance family who owned the Summerfield House estate. It opened as a park in 1876 then steadily grew in size over the next 15 years.
Many of the park’s historic features still remain, including the wide tree-lined paths that have provided joy to families on a stroll down the decades and the eye-catching brick bandstand.
