Where to play tennis or take lessons
There are over 30 tennis clubs and community groups in Birmingham. You can also play tennis in parks across Birmingham.
Using park tennis courts is normally free and you can just turn up and play.
Lessons for children
The Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) runs tennis courses for 3 to 10 year olds. The game is played on smaller courts, using smaller nets and rackets and lower bouncing balls. It's a perfect introduction to the sport.
During the summer, the LTA also runs free family tennis sessions.
Lessons for adults
Tennis Xpress is a 6-week course for adults covering all the basics. It’s ideal for those who've never played, or anyone looking to refresh their skills and get back into the game.
If you have never played tennis before, or have not played in a long time, then this course is ideal. During the course you’ll be taught new skills and shown how to serve, rally and score.
For more information and to find a Tennis Xpress course near you, visit the LTA website.
