Atlanta terminal station
-
Terminal Station was opened in 1905. Part of it was rebuilt in 1947. It was closed in 1970 and demolished in 1972. Amtrak moved services to another terminal. It was served by Southern Railway, Seaboard Air Line, Central of Georgia, and the Atlanta and West Point.
The card was posted on 29 January 1908 by "Harold". The writing on the front is very evocative of a person on a long journey, maybe going to seek a job or see the country. On the rear of the postcard he writes to Mr & Mrs Callow of Willard House, Muswell Hill, London. He says " Times just as bad here and no better than elsewhere. Disgusting isn't it?" which either suggests the lack of work or the state of the country at the time from his views.
