Mobile Household Waste Centres
The Mobile Household Recycling Centre (MHRC) service is changing to better serve the needs of residents, while giving the best value for money in the current climate.
As a part of these changes, the recycling vehicle is no longer available and the service has been renamed as the Mobile Household Waste Centre (MHWC) service.
If you have household recycling to dispose of, book a slot at one of our 5 Household Recycling Centres.
About our Mobile Household Waste Centres
Our 2 Mobile Household Waste Centres (MHWCs) visit all areas of the city. They visit each location for one morning – from 7:30am to 1:00pm. This means they visit 10 different places in the city each week.
You can dispose of household general waste and bulky items at our MHWCs.
There are staff on site to help you at each MHWC.
This service is not for commercial use. We have a commercial waste service for businesses.
If you arrive in a commercial vehicle, for example, a van, we will check that you are not disposing of commercial waste. We will ask you to sign a form, and you will be limited to disposing of 10 items or 20 black bags. People who arrive in a commercial vehicle will only be allowed to visit the MHWC once.
Visiting an MHWC
You:
- can visit as many times as you like
- do not need to book
- do not need to bring ID
- do not need to pay
Find out if your area is receiving a visit. This page is updated regularly with visits that will happen in the coming weeks.
Planned locations may change slightly to ensure safe parking on the day.
If your area is not receiving an MHWC visit soon, remember you can book a slot at one of our Household Recycling Centres or book a bulky waste collection.
