Public transport
On 21 October 2021 the council adopted the Birmingham Local Transport Plan 2031.
The principles in the plan include:
- reallocating road space
- prioritising active travel in local neighbourhoods
- managing demand through parking measures
Transport for West Midlands (TfWM), part of the West Midlands Combined Authority, is responsible for public transport across the city.
The TfWM website provides:
- details of routes and timetables
- the latest information on consultations for public transport improvements - such as Sprint and improvements to railway stations
