Birmingham infection control service and infection control champions
In December 2020 Birmingham Community Health Care Trust (BCHC) was commissioned to provide a dedicated Infection Prevention Control (IPC) service to care homes. The team is made of up of infection control nurses.
The team continue to provide IPC support and training to care homes in Birmingham to help improve practice. Every care home has been asked to nominate an IPC Champion and the BCHC team will support the development of an IPC Champions network to help improve IPC practice across the sector.

To date, Infection Prevention and Control have held five study days for IPC Champions.
