Story inspiration

Maybe Stephen King was inspired by a picture like this when he wrote his short story Chattery Teeth. This is about Bill Hogan, a travelling salesman who buys a set of wind-up novelty clockwork teeth in a shop. When a hitchhiker trys to rob and kill him the teeth come to life, protecting Bill and sending the robber to a horrifying end.
