Learning for work

We have a wide range of up-to-date books, CDs and other resources are available, with plenty of tips and guidance on how to look for work and apply. Topics include job search skills, study techniques, volunteering, psychometric testing, plus career profiling software and free access to websites enabling you to check where in the world your qualifications will be recognised.

There is also plenty of help and information on the website, including easy-to-use templates for your CV.

Qualified advisors are available to help you develop all the skills you need to find work, including how to write a CV, fill in an application form and interview techniques. Ask on the Business, Learning and Health floor.

Advisors can meet with you one-to-one to help you improve your skills for success and can refer you to other agencies for more specialist help such as careers guidance.

The Library’s Work Club is a great place to get advice and guidance on learning and work opportunities to support you when looking for work. All are welcome - ask in the Library or see website for dates and times.

Computers throughout the Library give you free internet access to search for vacancies, apply for jobs online and type your CV. There are computers reserved for this use on the Business, Learning and Health floor.
