Movable picture books

Pop up books and other books with moving parts with examples ranging from German designs of the 1870s right up to modern feats of paper engineering. The earliest in the collection is Stacey Grimaldi's "The Toilet", 1821, a movable book designed to teach virtuous behaviour to children.
