Led rides
Led rides give you the opportunity to explore by bike with a trained ride leader who will lead and supervise the group.
They are a great way to develop your cycling skills, make new friends, and discover more of your local area.
If you are under 18, you must bring and wear a helmet. We strongly recommend that adults bring and wear helmets.
To help you find the best ride for you, we use 3 ride grades.
Ride grades
Easy going
Not cycled for a while and looking for an easy way to get back in the saddle? Fancy a fun way to get your friends or kids riding?
Easy going rides are great for building confidence for all abilities on relaxed, mostly traffic-free routes.
They’re up to 6 miles long, with a gentle pace of around 6 miles an hour.
Steady
If you are fairly confident on your bike and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, steady rides are ideal.
At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, rides take place on mainly quiet roads with plenty of sights along the way.
Rides are between 6 and 20 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour.
Challenging
You do not have to be the next Bradley Wiggins, but you will need to know your way around a bike and be fairly fit to take part in challenging rides.
If you are comfortable riding with other people and fancy a fresh challenge, these rides are perfect for you.
They start at around 20 miles long, and are paced at between 11 and 12 miles an hour.
