Repairs done before you move in

When a council house becomes empty, we carry out work to make sure it meets our 'Empty Property Repair Standard'.

This work includes:

• doing any repairs
• making sure that all cooking facilities, bathroom facilities, gas, electric, heating, hot water, doors and windows are in good working order
• checking that all floors, cupboards and surfaces are clean

We will also:

• remove any graffiti, strip severely damaged wallpaper and repair any severely damaged large areas of plaster.
• remove all rubbish from the garden, cut it back if it is overgrown, and fill in any garden ponds

You can redecorate your new home as you wish.
