What is a non-resident fee?

We charge a non-resident fee if the person being buried (the deceased) wasn’t living in Birmingham when they died. This is on top of the Exclusive Right of Burial fee.

This means that people who don’t live in Birmingham, but who want to be buried in Birmingham, will pay more than those who do live in Birmingham.

Anyone who wasn’t living in Birmingham at the time of their death, but who bought the Exclusive Rights of Burial for a grave while they were living in Birmingham, won’t need to pay the non-resident fee.
