Digital gallery on the lower ground floor
The Library of Birmingham’s Digital Gallery consists of a cluster of 22 screens that can be used to display a range of different types of digital content. Its complex shape means that it is best suited to playing MP4 videos. It can also be programmed for individual assets, but exhibitors should contact the library about capacity and costs in advance.
Space | The Digital Gallery is located above the Library’s two lending terraces. It is highly visible throughout opening hours, 9am to 9pm, and can also be seen from outside the building. |

Equipment | The Digital Gallery consists of 22 screen that have been configured to reflect the library’s unique architecture. |
Audio/visual | The Digital Gallery is ideal for playing high-impact MP4 videos. It has no sound capability and so we recommend the use of short pieces of text to provide context and information about the artwork. |
Specification | The Digital Gallery requires no physical installation. Content is delivered virtually by the library’s content-management system. |
Partners |
The Digital Gallery space is ideal for partners who have some previous experience producing a digital exhibition. It is useful for displaying large numbers of artwork and can include some animation and digital effects. |
Timescales |
The Digital Gallery is usually booked about six months in advance. |
