Meeting Room Suite
Our meeting room suite on level 1 of the library offers three high-spec, flexible meeting rooms, including rooms suitable for up to 70 delegates (theatre style). All the meeting rooms benefit from natural daylight and views over Centenary Square. Each room is fitted with a digital screen and projector, and has Wifi access. The meeting room suite has its own dedicated facilities to ensure your event runs smoothly.
Studio Theatre
The Studio Theatre is an adaptable, high spec space ideal for conferences, seminars and corporate events, breakfast briefings etc. It can seat up to 292 theatre style, 200 cabaret style or be configured as an empty space. A range of fully integrated AV options are available supported by a technician.
Feature spaces
- Book Rotunda: This stunning book lined space in the heart of the Library of Birmingham offers an iconic setting for gala dinners and drinks receptions for up to 200 people.
- Shakespeare Memorial Room: This historic room was created for the city’s Victorian library by John Henry Chamberlain in 1882. Following restoration by local craftsmen, it now commands an impressive position at the very top of the Library of Birmingham. It offers a very special setting for small wedding ceremonies or civil ceremonies (up to 40 people) exclusive dining (up to 20 people) and drinks receptions (up to 45 people). Hire of the Shakespeare Memorial Room also includes exclusive use of the adjoining Skyline Viewpoint, with stunning panoramic views across the city.
- Discovery Terrace: This beautiful outdoor garden terrace on Level 3 overlooks Centenary Square and is a perfect relaxed location for summer drinks receptions, celebrations and networking events.
- Highlight / The Gallery: We offer drinks receptions for up to 100 people in the Highlight space adjacent to our exhibition gallery on Level 3, which can be combined with an exclusive viewing of the latest exhibition. Our Gallery exhibitions showcase some of the treasures from the library’s world-class archive, heritage and photography collections.
Wedding Ceremonies and Civil Ceremonies
The Library of Birmingham is licensed to hold wedding and civil ceremonies, offering couples a very special city centre venue that is perfect for smaller, more intimate weddings in our Shakespeare Memorial Room.
Licensing
The Library of Birmingham is licenced for the consumption of alcohol at private events.
Parking
There are a number of public car parks available nearby, including the Paradise Circus Multi-Storey car park on Cambridge Street at the rear of the Library. We do not have on-site parking.
WiFi
There is free WiFi throughout the Library of Birmingham. A chargeable premium service is also available.
Projectors and Equipment
All rooms in the Meeting Room Suite are equipped with AV equipment including projectors and this is included in the rates charged. All meetings rooms come with one flipchart, paper and pens as standard. We can provide a portable PA system.
