Moor Pool conservation area - replacement windows
The Moor Pool conservation area is one of the best planned arts and crafts garden suburbs in the region.
The buildings on the estate display a consistent use of:
- style
- scale
- architectural detailing
- materials
Changes to individual buildings may affect the character and appearance of the whole street scene.
As a result of this unique character, the Article 4(2) direction and the Moor Pool Conservation Character Appraisal (2012) seek to control the installation of replacement windows and doors.
Where possible, residents are encouraged to repair, upgrade and retain historic Moor Pool windows and doors. However, if historic windows, or inappropriate modern windows, are to be replaced, they must be in the correct historic style in accordance with the Conservation Area character appraisal and management plan.
To make it easier for Moor Pool residents to get planning permission to replace windows, we have commissioned a series of drawings that detail what you can use as part of your planning applications.
