Birmingham Design and Conservation Review Panel
Allied with the new Birmingham Design guide will be the creation of a Birmingham Design and Conservation Review Panel (BDCRP), who will play an important role in helping deliver the design ethos presented within the guide.
The new review panel will replace the existing Conservation Heritage Panel, to create a multi disciplinary group of professionals.
The council is hoping professionals will share their expertise and experience to independently and objectively assess key development proposals received by the council.
Initial proposals are to have a core panel, with a secondary pool of specialist expertise the city can draw on when specific types of proposals are received.
Development proposals will be assessed at pre application stage, with outcomes helping to enhance proposals and inform planning decisions.
Development subject to design review will be those considered sensitive in terms of design, public interest, locality and/or size.
The council is keen to create a diverse panel of expertise and would welcome expressions of interest from a broad range of professionals who wish to join the panel.
Unfortunately we are unable to pay Panel Members, but expenses will be reimbursed in line with Council policy.
Expressions of interest will be welcomed between 25 September and 6 November.
You can express your interest.
Expressions should demonstrate how your expertise and knowledge would be an asset to the panel and help realise the design ambitions presented within the new design guide.
