Birmingham design and conservation review panel

The Birmingham design and conservation review panel (BDCRP) plays an important role in shaping the city and how it functions. The Panel comprises a host of professionals who undertake a formal design review of a variety of development proposals, masterplans and planning policy which are changing the face of our city. Core panel members are supplemented with a host of specialist members called on for their specific expertise according to the cases presented at each meeting. The cases reviewed will be those agreed at Planning Project Board and will include those that will most benefit from the process due to their complexity and strategic impact.

Meetings are held on the second Monday of each month and agendas for each meeting are agreed a month in advance. There is no fee attached to design review, however applicants present their own schemes which must be submitted two weeks in advance. Meetings are held in Room 209, Planning and Development, 2nd Floor, 1 Lancaster Circus, Queensway, Birmingham, B4 7DL. The room is equipped with a variety of media technology including the city virtual reality model into which a proposal can be imported.
