- Found guilty in their absence of five offences following a complaint received and subsequent inspection at Karak Chaii Soho Road, 250 Soho Road, Birmingham, one offence of providing unsafe food to a consumer, namely an aloo paratha dish with mint yoghurt containing egg, when the consumer had stated that they had an egg allergy, one offence relating to a lack of adequate procedures based on HACCP principles for the service of consumers with food allergies, one relating to staff not being adequately trained, one of failing to provide the correct allergen information for the dish by failing to declare the presence of egg as an ingredient and one of failing to comply with a Hygiene Improvement Notice requiring up to date allergen information to be provided, in that there was no system in place for providing this information.
