- Found guilty in absence of five offences relating to conditions at Universal Food Stores, 375-377 Soho Road, Handsworth Wood, Birmingham. Cleaning procedures were extremely poor. Pest proofing was extremely poor and the structure of the premises was unsuitable allowing access for pests. There was rat and mice activity. Fruit and vegetables, were contaminated with rat droppings. The Company failed to comply with a Hygiene Improvement Notices requiring they put in place and maintain procedures based on HACCP.
