Valentine from the Melcomb Manor series, published by Marcus Ward & Co and illustrated by Kate Greenaway.
The verse reads;
"My love in her garden
Is soft voiced and tender,
O say, will she pardon
The message I send her?The buds and the flowers
That blow round her feet,
The almond that showers
Pink petals sweet.The doves softly cooing
The whispering wind,
O say, to my wooing,
