All about me
I came to Birmingham as a student in 1970, liked the City, and decided to stay. I first stood for the Council in 1976, losing narrowly. I spent the next twenty years bringing up my family and helping my husband with his political work.
When my children grew up, I decided the time was right to stand again and I was elected to represent Edgbaston Ward in 1999. We were both delighted when our youngest son, Robert, was elected to the Council in May 2006 at the age of 23. He represents Erdington Ward.
