Sutton Connect
The pioneering Sutton Connect Green Travel District (GTD) has been launched for Sutton Walmley and Minworth, to help improve sustainable and active travel for residents, workers and visitors.
The GTD aims to reduce congestion, pollution and traffic accidents, as well as enable healthier, safer, more productive communities by prioritising people over cars.
To enable people to travel by public transport, new bus services have been launched to serve the Peddimore site and link it with other parts of Birmingham such as City Centre, Erdington and Castle Vale.

The formation of the GTD brings together key organisations, including:
- Birmingham City Council
- Royal Sutton Coldfield Town Council
- Warwickshire County Council
- IM Properties
- the Langley Consortium
- Transport for West Midlands
These organisations will work together to coordinate activity across the area and make sure the necessary infrastructure, policies and supporting initiatives are in place.
The GTD has been developed alongside the creation of the Peddimore employment park and the Langley Sustainable Urban Extension (SUE), which will bring thousands of new jobs and homes to the area.
